NFL Week Fourteen Predictions

WEEK FOURTEEN PREDICTIONS

XENA AND TANNER CHEW ON THE WEEK’S BIG GAME

The Doggies had another so-so 2-2 week last week and have slumped to 22-18 on the year.  This week we again have four tough games.  We will employ the "Castanza" method this week and pick against our instincts.

Cowboys@Bengals - An important game for both teams who are currently on the outside looking in on the playoff picture in their respective conferences.  My instincts say the Bengals are on a roll with four straight and that even when the Cowboys win it is painful.  So the anti instincts pick says go with the Cowboys for a tough road win.

Vikings @ Bears - The Bears suffered a tough loss at home to Seattle last week and seeded first place in the NFC North to the Pack.  These teams are playing for the second time in two weeks.  My instincts say that it is hard to beat a division opponent twice in two weeks - -but they also say that without Percy Harvin the Vikings are too reliant on Adrian Petersen to take down the Bears.  Vikings for no particular reason is my pick.

Ravens at Redskins - My instincts say the Skins are the hot hand.   Washington played solid on offense and defense last week to get into the playoff hunt with a win over the Giants.  Ravens are fighting for the number two seed in the AFC and have a brutal final four games.  Ravens are a much better home team so the Redskins are the instinctive choice -- which means I go with the Ravens.

Patriots at Texans - Remember the last time a prolific offense came to Houston for the "biggest game in Texans history" in a nationally televised game?  I do.  The Packers spanked the Texans good right in front of all those disappointed people.  So instincts say the Patriots will again show the Houston D is not so formidable when the Jaguars are not the opponent.  But in Castanza week, I go with Houston.
