NFL Game Day Memories

GAME DAY MEMORIES
Texans Win Their First Game

The Houston Texans are the only undefeated team in the AFC five weeks into the Season.  These are heady times for the Texans who entered the league in 2002 and reached the playoffs for the first time after the 2011 season.  The Texans face the Packers today.  Though 2-3, the packers are still a dangerous team and are desperate for a win.  The Texans have not defeated a team with a winning record in their five victories.  If Green Bay beats them it will create questions about whether the Texans are a legitimate threat.   This might be the most anticipated regular season game in Houston since……

The Texans played the intrastate rival Cowboys in their first ever regular season home game on opening day 2002.   The Texans scored 10 fourth quarter points to beat the Cowboys 19-10.  David Carr quarterbacked the Texans and threw two touchdown passes.   The immortal Quincy carter started at quarterback for Dallas.  Houston finished their expansion year a respectable 4-12.  The once-proud Cowboys finished a dismal 5-11.
