WEEK SEVEN PREDICTIONS
Xena and Tanner look to rebound after a 1-3 week six. Sometimes they just don't take these things
very seriously.
Ravens @ Texans - The
5-1 Ravens and the 5-1 Texans are the only two teams in the AFC with winning
records heading into week seven. That is
kind of amazing and kind of pathetic.
The Packers embarrassed the Texans at home last week. The Ravens were lucky to beat the Cowboys
last week and lost key starters on defense to injuries. I look for the Texans to avenge last year's
playoff loss and to control this contest with their ground game.
Cardinals @ Vikings -
Who would have thought at the start of the season that these two teams would
play a game in week seven that actually means something? Cardinals are coming off two bad losses and
don't seem to have any bullets on offense.
Minnesota fought hard last week in Washington but could not contain
RG3. Vikings are tough in the dome. Only hope for Cardinals is for the defense or
special teams to generate some points.
That is not something you can count on.
I look for the Vikings to move to 5-2.
Redskins @ Giants - The
Giants managed to lose twice to Washington last year when Rex Grossman was the
quarterback for the Redskins. Go
figure. The Redskins have a slightly better
option at quarterback these days. This
promises to be one of the days more entertaining games. I think the teams put lots of points on the board
- but the Redskin offense won't be able to keep pace with the points the Redskin
defense allows. The Giants have rolled
out a balanced offense the last two weeks and should have their way with the
generous Washington defense.
Steelers @ Bengals - Both
teams need this game to avoid falling too far behind the Ravens in the AFC North. Normally I would give the Steelers the
benefit of the doubt in a tight division contest with the Bengals. Not this time. The Steelers are beat up on offense and will
be playing their third string back. Ben
will put up numbers but eventually the O lone will give way. Cincy doesn't get many national audience
games and I think they bring something extra this week after poor showing on
opening Monday night.
