NFL Predictions - Week Eight

WEEK EIGHT PREDICTIONS

XENA AND TANNER CHEW ON THE WEEK’S BIG GAME

A very attractive set of match ups this week.  So here we go.

Falcons @ Eagles -- This feels like a season make/break game for the Eagles.  A loss adds to the chaos that swirls around Eagle land these days and could topple the Reid regime for all practical purposes.  Vick also on the hot seat.  This is a good test for Atlanta.  They play a talented, desperate team on the road.  I don't think the Falcons are a super team -- but I don't have confidence that the Eagles can play a complete game.  Falcons in a mild upset.

Giants @ Cowboys - Once again I fall back on the adage that NFC East games are tough to gauge.  Giants are on a mini roll, but they are still only 1-2 in their own division.  Cowboys always seem to play just well enough to lose.  I don't see the Giants losing twice to a division foe this early in the year - -even though Jerry Jones promised a little Giant butt-kicking.

Redskins at Steelers - This is the game I most want to watch this week.  Great contrast in styles between RG3 and Big Ben.  The Steeler defense showed me something in the second half in Cincy last week.  Just a hunch that a young Redskin team
still learning how to win will fall a little short this week.

Saints @ Broncos - How many punts do you think we will see in this one?  I doubt either punter will need to shower before that post game meal.  The Saints rival Buffalo for the worst defense in the league.  The Broncos D has had trouble getting off the field against quality offenses.  Team that maximizes possessions by limiting turnovers will win this one.  If Broncos fall behind early this one is over.  I think they learned a lesson in San Diego and will not put up another zero in first half.  Broncos win and defensive football takes the night off.
